Harry Price – ICF World Cups 2024

I’m leaving the World Cups feeling fired up about freestyle and excited for the World Championships next year. During the first World Cup, I was very happy to build on my rides throughout the rounds. Getting to paddle in the finals is always fun and it was a bonus to finish in 1st place. This is my first gold in an ICF competition. Due to a rapidly rising river and impending flooding, the second World Read more…

Ottilie Robinson-Shaw – Overall World Cup Champion in all 3 women’s disciplines

The second World Cup ended sooner than expected due to flooding. This meant that results were taken from the preliminary round held last Thursday. I ended up with 2 more golds in C1 and Squirt and took home Silver in K1 behind the incredible Hitomi. My combined results were enough for me to finish the series as the overall World Cup Champion in all three disciplines, which was a rather lovely way to mark the Read more…

Dennis Newton – Launching the ‘Riders’ youth programme

I’m excited to be launching the ‘Riders’ youth programme in partnership with Ottilie Robson-Shaw and Mike Shaw. Earlier this year I reached out for your input to the Riders, with an amazing response. I really wanted to ensure continuity in the programme that would work around our hectic schedules, which led to the partnership. Ottie, Mike and myself will be lead coaches on the programme with guest athletes and coaches joining us. Ottilie Robson-Shaw is Read more…

Dennis Newton – ICF World Championship 2023

I would like to congratulate all the athletes after this amazing, and sometimes challenging Worlds. I’m proud to have supported athletes toward not only medal success, but to performances to be proud of, some making their mark for the first time on the world stage. The athletes hard work, and growth during the journey to this event has been inspiring, showcasing (at times pioneering) the sport – it’s been a privilege to have shared this Read more…

Huge congratulations to all the ASP athletes – what an inspiration!

It’s been an amazing year for the ASP team, with personal bests and word records smashed. These accomplishments are all the result of their unwavering determination, drive and commitment. It’s a joy to support these athletes, who have also been great ambassadors for the sport, all of them actively involved in mentoring young athletes and/or supporting their national freestyle committees.

Dennis Newton – ICF World Cups Columbus, GA

ICF World Cup Columbus GA Congratulations to all athletes, event organisers and volunteers! We got to see some amazing performances. For many of the athletes, it was their first experience competing on ‘GoodWave’ or larger wave in general. Often competitions on unfamiliar features can result in safer, less innovative rides, so it was great to see athletes seizing the opportunity to try more risky tricks and ride strategies. This truely showed what is needed to Read more…
