Kayak Session Magazine, said that “both these ladies have been ripping it up this year and both got the same amount of votes. Whether it was through crazy high score rides in Freestyle for Ottie or going fast and hard on steep creeks for Sage, they both represent the best way possible the future of whitewater kayaking!”
On receiving the award Ottie had this to say “I’m honoured to tie with Sage Viselli Donnelly who’s been pushing hard creek boating and racing this season. Far from the year I’ve dreamt of but I’m super grateful to have been able to train and hopefully we can return to competing next year. Bring on 2021! Big well done to all the nominated girls who are pushing the boundaries in freestyle, whitewater and slalom. We’re changing the game.”
