Getting Started

I’ve only just started competing. Will this be suitable for me?

Yes, absolutely. We believe in your potential, not just your current performance. Whether you’re new to competing or already experienced, we’re here to help you learn, improve and achieve your goals. Dennis will create your personalised plan based on your experience, availability and ambitions. When you sign up, you’ll complete a questionnaire that gives him everything he needs to design a plan tailored to you.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

If you value collaboration, fresh perspectives and are ready to invest time and energy into improving, coaching is a great fit. Dennis will guide you through challenges, help you set achievable goals and provide the support you need to progress.

Can I still work with other coaches?

Yes. Dennis is committed to an athlete‑centred approach and has extensive experience collaborating with teams, coaches and sport science practitioners. This ensures you benefit from a holistic and supportive environment.

Do I need to live in the United Kingdom?

No. Dennis works with athletes worldwide, and his online live training means you can work with him from anywhere.

What if I’m often traveling or training abroad?

Your plan will be adjusted to keep you on track while travelling, training and exploring new whitewater destinations, regardless of time zones.

If I sign up today, when will I receive my training plan?

After joining the ADP athlete roster, Dennis will send you a questionnaire to complete. Once returned, he’ll review your training and competition journey. This process typically takes less than three to four days.

How long does an ADP programme last?

Programmes are flexible and can run monthly, seasonally or across a full competition year. You can also book shorter blocks for specific goals such as event preparation or skill development.

Can I join the ADP if I’m not competing yet?

Yes. Many athletes join to build strong foundations before entering competitions. The programme is designed to support you at any stage of your journey.

Training Services

How do you create my training plan?

You’ll complete a user‑friendly questionnaire to highlight what has worked well and where improvements can be made. Dennis will then review your training and competitive journey. After that, you’ll arrange a video call to discuss your goals and preferences. Together, you’ll map out the next steps and implement your practice plan.

How do you shape each training session to my needs?

Dennis reviews your progress, refines your goals and introduces new insights to improve performance. You’ll take an active role in shaping your sessions.

How often and how long do I need to train?

Your plan will be tailored to your goals, experience and availability. While top‑tier freestyle athletes often train three to four times per week, we also support athletes who train weekly or fortnightly. Alongside in‑person sessions, we offer online remote training and guided peer‑to‑peer training. The duration of your plan will depend on your goals and session frequency. Whatever your needs, we’ll optimise your plan to fit your schedule and budget.

Can I get coaching only at specific periods in my training?

Yes. Dennis can support you during key periods such as competition preparation, skill refinement or addressing specific challenges, without requiring an ongoing commitment.

How do flexible coaching ratios enhance training?

Dennis offers flexible coach‑to‑athlete ratios (e.g., 1:1, 1:3 or 1:5) based on your needs. Even in one‑to‑one coaching, you’ll have opportunities to interact with peers for insights, motivation and competition simulations. This ensures you benefit from both personalised attention and peer support.

How often will I communicate with Dennis?

Communication is tailored to your needs, typically a few times per week. This may increase during key phases to provide additional support and ensure you stay on track.

Is my performance data private?

Yes. Your performance metrics and competition ride plans are strictly private and accessible only to you and Dennis. With your consent, selected data may occasionally be shared with peers during training to enhance the collaborative experience.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?

If you need to reschedule, just let Dennis know as early as possible and he’ll find a suitable alternative time. All sessions can be moved within your six‑month usage window.

Can I switch between online and in‑person coaching?

Absolutely. Many athletes blend both formats to stay supported between in‑person training days.

Online Coaching

How do online check‑ins and sessions work?

Online check‑ins (30 minutes) or sessions (60 minutes) can be scheduled as needed to review progress, provide practical guidance and adjust your training plan. These sessions build accountability and keep you moving forward.

What’s the difference between a Check‑in and an Online Session?

A Check‑in is a short 30‑minute session designed to give you quick clarity, address challenges and keep you progressing. An Online Session is a full hour, offering deeper guidance, detailed analysis and more time to work through your goals.

How do I prepare for an online session?

All you need is a quiet space, a stable internet connection and any recent videos or questions you’d like to discuss. Dennis will guide you through the rest.

How do I receive video review feedback?

Dennis will create a personalised video analysis tailored to your needs. This can include video, audio, text or diagrams to highlight changes and improvements. You can ask follow‑up questions at any time.

How can I make sure I’m doing the remote practice correctly?

Dennis will provide live coaching via video calls, along with practical drills and resources. You’ll also record yourself performing key tasks and send the videos for feedback.

How quickly will you get back to me with my video review?

Outside of scheduled check‑ins, Dennis typically responds within an hour. You’ll keep each other updated about any schedule changes.

How do I share my video clips?

Once you’re signed up, Dennis will help you choose the quickest and easiest way to share your clips, using the format that suits you best.

How many video clips can I submit with All-Access?

You’re encouraged to submit clips for analysis and receive quick feedback. The maximum number of clips is based on your training plan or athlete package, though this can be adjusted by mutual agreement.

Which communication platforms will we be using?

Typically, Spond, Google Meet or Zoom are used for messaging and video calls.

How does this work with under 18s?

All communication methods will be pre‑approved by parents or guardians, who will have access to view all messages and video exchanges.

In‑Person Training

What’s the difference between 1:3 and 1:1 training?

1:3 sessions offer a blend of personalised coaching and peer learning, ideal for realistic practice scenarios. 1:1 sessions provide fully focused attention and are perfect for deep technical work or specific goals.

What happens if the weather or water levels change?

Dennis will adapt the session to ensure you still get high‑quality training. If conditions make training unsafe, you’ll reschedule within your usage window.

Can I attend a camp with friends or teammates?

Yes. Small groups (1:3) work well for shared goals, team preparation or peer‑supported learning.

Monthly Training Packages

How do the monthly training packages work?

Each monthly package includes a mix of in‑person training, online sessions and video reviews. They’re designed to give you consistent support throughout the month and help you maintain momentum between sessions.

Do monthly packages auto‑renew?

No. You choose whether to renew each month. This gives you full control over your training and budget.

Can I switch between 1:1 and 1:3 coach ratios?

Yes. You can move between ratios at any time to match your goals, confidence and preferred learning environment.

Can I spread my sessions out if my schedule changes?

Yes. All monthly package sessions are valid for 12 months, giving you flexibility around work, travel and competition.

Can I add extra sessions to my monthly package?

Yes. You can add additional online or in‑person sessions at any time to support busy training phases or competition preparation.

What is included in a Personal Camp package?

Each Personal Camp includes an initial online session to prepare, two full days of high‑performance training, a post‑camp online session and five video reviews to maintain momentum. You’ll also receive copies of your videos and a clear next‑step practice plan.

Can I attend a Personal Camp with friends or teammates?

Yes. The 1:3 ratio works well for shared goals, team preparation or peer‑supported learning.

Can I spread the online sessions before and after the camp?

Yes. You can schedule the pre‑camp and post‑camp online sessions at times that work best for your training and travel plans.

What if I need to reschedule part of my camp?

Just let Dennis know as early as possible. All sessions are valid for 12 months, giving you flexibility if plans change.
