Can I still work with other coaches?

Do I need to live in the United Kingdom?

No, you don’t. Dennis works with athletes from all over the world, and his online live training ensures you can work with him from anywhere, regardless of your location.

What if I’m often traveling or training abroad?

Dennis will adjust your plan to ensure you stay on track while traveling, training and exploring new whitewater destinations, regardless of time zones.

If I sign up today, when will I receive my training plan?

After signing up for the ADP athlete roster, Dennis will send you a questionnaire to complete. Following that, this process, including reviewing your training and competition journey, typically taking less than 3-4 days.

How do you create my training plan?

Dennis will provide a user-friendly athlete questionnaire to identify what has worked well in the past and areas for improvement. He will then review your training and competitive journey. Following that, you’ll arrange a video call to get a clearer understanding of your coaching preferences, and what success looks like for you. Together, you’ll then chart the next steps to implement your practice plan.

How do you shape each training session to my needs?

Dennis tailors each session by reviewing your progress, refining your goals, and introducing new insights to improve performance. He encourages you to actively participate in shaping your sessions, helping you understand the principles behind your training and make informed decisions. This collaborative approach ensures every session is personalised, empowering you to stay motivated, confident, and in control of your competitive journey, resulting in a more effective and rewarding training experience.

How often and how long do I need to train?

Dennis will create a tailored training plan based on your goals, experience, and availability. While top-tier freestyle athletes often train 3 to 4 times per week, we also support those training less frequently, whether weekly or fortnightly. Beyond delivering sessions, our focus is on developing your self-coaching skills to ensure independent progress.. Alongside in-person training, we provide online remote training, and facilitate guided peer-to-peer training. The duration of your training plan will depend on your goals and session frequency. Whatever your needs, we will optimise your plan to fit your schedule and budget, ensuring maximum value and continuous improvement in your training and competition journey.

Can I just get coaching at specific periods in my training?

Yes, absolutely! Dennis is here to support you during critical periods, such as preparing for a competition, fine-tuning your skills, or addressing specific challenges, all without requiring a commitment to ongoing coaching.

How does Dennis use flexible coaching ratios to enhance training?

Dennis offers flexible coach-to-athlete ratios (e.g., 1:1, 1:3 or 1:5), tailored to your needs. Even in one-to-one coaching, you can interact with your peers to gain insights, enhance motivation, and have competition simulations. How often will I communicate with Dennis?

The frequency of communication will be tailored to your needs – typically a few times per week. Depending on your training plan, this may increase during key phases to provide additional support. This flexible approach ensures you stay on track toward your goals at a pace that works best for you.

Is my performance data during training private?

Yes, your performance metrics, and competition ride plans are strictly private, accessible only to you and Dennis. With your consent, this data may occasionally be shared with peers during training sessions to enhance the collaborative experience.

Online Services

How will the online check-ins and sessions work?

In-person or video call check-ins (30mins) or sessions (60mins) can be scheduled as needed to review your progress, provide live practical guidance, and adjust your training or practice plan. These sessions offer valuable feedback, build accountability, and deliver encouragement to keep you on track.

How do I receive video review feedback from my coach?

Dennis will create a personalised video tailored to your needs, offering analysis and additional drills or strategies to work on. You’ll be able to watch his analysis, which may include video, audio, text, or diagrams, and see the changes and improvements he suggests for your technique or strategy. You can also ask follow-up questions and chat with him for further clarification and guidance.

How can I make sure I’m doing the remote practice right?

Dennis will provide live coaching via video calls, including practical drills and resources. You’ll also record yourself performing key tasks and send the videos to him for feedback.

How quickly will you get back to me with my video review?

Outside of pre-arranged check-ins, Dennis typically responds within an hour. You’ll keep each other informed about any changes to schedules.

How do I share my video clips?

Once you’re signed up for ADP, Dennis will work with you to determine the quickest and easiest way for you to share your video clips, using the format that best suits you.

How many video clips can I submit with the All-Access option?

You are encouraged to submit clips for analysis and receive quick feedback through pre-recorded videos. To ensure high-quality service, the maximum number of clips is set based on your training plan or athlete package. However, this limit may be adjusted through mutual agreement.

Which communication platforms will we be using?

Typically, Dennis uses Spond, Google Meet, or Zoom for messaging and video calls.

How does this work with under 18’s?

All methods of communication will be pre-approved by parents or guardians, who will have access to view all messages and video exchanges.
